Saturday Program

TIEP’s Saturday Program offers TOEFL Preparation and English Conversation and Pronunciation courses. Saturday courses may be taken alone or in addition to TIEP’s intensive English courses. Saturday courses provide instruction in topics which are often of great interest to English learners. These courses meet on Saturdays, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., for nine consecutive weeks. Students who successfully complete these 36-hour, noncredit courses are eligible to receive 3.6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

Language Skills Enrichment

Conversation & Pronunciation Skills I & II

These 36-hour courses are for English learners who want to improve their conversational English and pronunciation. Approximately half of the course time is spent on conversation skills and half on pronunciation. Course goals are to improve fluency and speaking competence by practicing the vocabulary, expressions, and grammatical forms needed for everyday communication. Pronunciation is improved by practicing vowel and consonant sounds, intonation, rhythm, and stress. These courses help learners gain confidence in their English in order to communicate more fluently and effectively. Class I is for students with high-beginning to intermediate English proficiency, and Class II is for students with high-intermediate to advanced English proficiency.  The Registration Fee is $700 and includes tuition and the book.
