Application Instructions for TIEP Intensive Programs

The Registration Fee includes tuition, books, and other instructional materials.

All programs offer 20 hours of classroom instruction per week.

The English for Academic Purposes program is not offered during 4-week and 3-week summer sessions.

The Foundations of English program and the English for Communication and Culture program are offered during all sessions. The 4-week and 3-week sessions offered during the summer are separate from other courses.

Actual course and program availability may vary from semester to semester depending on enrollment.

Depending on enrollment, students who register for the 4-week and 8-week sessions that begin in January may be placed in classes with students who register for the 16-week session.  Students who register for the 7-week session that begins in August may be placed in classes with students who register for the 15-week session.

Students who register for the March 8-week or October 8-week sessions may be placed in ongoing classes at the appropriate level.

REFUND POLICY
  1. FEES
    The TIEP application fee, assistance with housing fee, and express mail fee are neither refundable nor transferable.  The TIEP application fee and assistance with housing fee are deferrable for one year.
  2. PREPAID TUITION
    Students who prepay TIEP tuition in full and are unable to enter the United States and enroll at TIEP for the session(s) for which they have prepaid will receive a full refund less a $100 cancellation fee.  The refund request must be received in writing no later than the tenth (10th) class day or the student will forfeit all prepaid tuition.
  3. WITHDRAWAL FROM TIEP AFTER REGISTERING
    To receive a refund after registering at TIEP, a student must officially withdraw.
  • Notice of withdrawal must be presented in writing by completing a Request to Withdraw form.  This form is available from the TIEP Student Services Administrator and the TIEP Director.
  • Students who withdraw before classes begin will receive a full refund, less a $150 cancellation fee.
  • Students who withdraw after classes begin will receive a partial refund according to the schedule listed below.  The refund will depend on when the withdrawal is requested and approved and on the length of the enrollment period.  In the case of a Deferred Payment Plan, refunds are calculated on the full amount of tuition owed for the session, including fees.

CALENDAR / FEES:
• The registration fee is subject to change. The registration fee includes tuition and books.

APPLICATION FEE:
A $100 non-refundable, non-transferable application fee is required to complete your application. The application fee is valid for 12 months.

MEDICAL INSURANCE:
All students with F-1 and J-1 visas must either show proof of medical insurance or purchase a plan at registration.

BOOKS:
Books are included in the registration fee.
